Week One, Done!!
3January 10, 2014 by CJ
I got ‘er done first thing this morning. What did I get done? My last workout with The Firm Express, this week, Cycle 1 Ignite. Bright and early Monday morning I put the disc in and stumbled my way through the workout. It was tough. Fast moving and tough. Did I mention it was tough? It moves so fast you don’t even have time to think about how much it hurts, you are just moving. And then they have these things called “Mini Bursts” which are only 8 seconds long, but they really get your heart pounding and muscles working. There are about 4 of them throughout the workout. After each “mini burst” you do a 12 second cool down. What I love about the mini burst, is yet while they are hard and really do push you, it’s only for 8 seconds. I mean really, you can do just about anything for 8 seconds. After that first workout, I collapsed on my floor. It was a good collapse. The kind you take after pushing yourself beyond where you had previously thought you could. I tell you this, there is no better way to start your day then by pushing yourself beyond your limits. Even though I was sore (that kicked in after sitting at my desk all day) and tired, from waking at 530 in the morning, I felt great.
I felt so good about my Monday workout, that I was looking forward to the Wednesday one. Each disc is a tough approximately 20 minutes of jammed packed movement. The time does fly by and now, as I sit here, a few hours after my super early morning workout, just about every muscle in my body is sore. A good sore. The kind of pain and tightness that comes after an awesome workout.
What I really do love about this workout plan is that with each workout I have a new disc. It’s like taking a different exercise class each day, with no repeats! Next week I start over with cycle 2 and a new trainer. I admit, I have fallen hard for Emily Welsh (master Firm instructor and mom of 2) in cycle 1! I’ve decided I am going to redo this 4 week routine during the month of February, while going meat free. I know I originally said I was only going to do this for the month of January, but I’ve changed my mind. That is how much I have enjoyed this week.
How are you doing with your goals for 2014?
I am jealous and tired all at the same time…..GOOD FOR YOU!! 🙂
HAHAHA!! Now to step up my game for this coming week of workouts.
THANKS!!
