Day 2 So Now What?

It’s day 2 of my 30 days of blogging and you guessed it, I don’t have a clue what to write about. I did receive some advice via a comment on Day 1 from Alena of Alenaslife, “Happy birthday. Just like you keep your legs moving when you run, keep your fingers typing when you blog. Don’t overthink it.” I’m taking her advice and I’m just writing.

I spent a large portion of my day thinking about what today’s post would share. Would it be about my first day back to work after a vacation (rough), the training session I was in today (learned a lot), the ridiculous phone call I received from my son (“Mom, when you come home can you do the laundry”), or the disorganized state my home is currently in. Today will be about none of the above. I don’t have it in me to tell a story or go into any detail about my day. Instead I will tell you about my two favorite birthday gifts, from my two favorite people, my awesome children (despite the call for me to do laundry while I’m at work).

They made the gifts while in Florida with their grandmother. I posted once before how much I LOVE homemade gifts from the heart. For the first time, since I think they have been able to pick out a gift for me, they were each able to make something that I will actually use.

On my birthday, my daughter presented me with the bracelet she made. I wore it to work today and plan on wearing it everyday. It made my day looking at my wrist and seeing something that her little hands worked hard to make. She was so happy to present it to me! I don’t know who was showing more teeth, me or her.

Once we returned home, my son presented his piece of art to me. A vase. I love it!  For my son to take his time and paint something using more then one color is rare!  He is the one child I know that would use the same crayon to color an entire coloring book.  I’m in awe that he did something I have been asking him to do since he could hold a crayon in his fat little baby hands.  I cannot wait to get to a craft store and find just the right flowers in place in this.
