Natural Toner

I’ve struggled with oily skin my entire life. When I don’t wear make-up, I’m often left looking moist (to put it kindly, others may say sweaty). I have an oily forehead and have been struggling since I was 12 or 13 to keep it under control. I’ve spent a lot of money trying various products. Recently, while researching natural products for my hair, I found some information on products for my skin. I had stopped using toner on my skin, but decided to try it over the summer, my oiliest time.
I mixed together Apple Cider Vinegar, witch hazel, lime juice, and tea tree oil. Gave it a good shake and ta dah, my first toner!!
I tried it on myself for a few weeks and liked it, but the overwhelming smell of the vinegar was not good. I then added peppermint oil, which aided in giving my skin a nice cooling feeling and made the smell that much more pleasant. I then made up a bottle and gave to my 12 year twins to try. Their skin is currently normal, they have occasional breakouts and many products have been just too harsh. They approved the smell and gave it try. A few days later, my always complaining 12 year old son, said he really liked it and claimed it aided in the reduction of an upcoming pimple on his forehead. My husband, who suffers from ingrown hair (or razor bumps) started applying it to his face, after shaving and to his head nightly. After a few days he saw improvement and asked for his own bottle! I told a co-worker about it, and she asked if I could make up a bottle for her. She tells me almost daily how much she loves the feel of it on her skin. She told a friend and they told another and next thing you know, I’m making toner! I set up a page on etsy, to help organize the orders.
Do you use toner on your skin? Have you ever started a project that was just for yourself, only to find others wanting or needing what you did?
Funny, the path life can take you down sometimes.
