50 Miles -4th 30 Day Challenge
7April 7, 2014 by CJ
My fourth 30 day challenge is to run 50 miles in 30 days. Honestly, when I picked this challenge I thought I would have been running in January, February and March. But this crazy winter weather we have had, allowed me to extend my winter solstice on my behind. I decided in late March that I was going to push through this running challenge. It’ll be good for me…right?
Currently, I am 7 days into this and I have run/walked 7.36 miles. My plan is to do something everyday (I didn’t walk today, pouring down rain). I figured I can’t jump into running everyday without causing some type of injury. But if I run every other day and walk (30 minutes) on my off days, I should be good. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t start this plan until Friday April 4th. What’s done is done. All I can do it keep it moving.
I’m pretty excited about this challenge. I hate running, but I think this will be just what my body needs to help shed some pounds. So far, I have failed miserably when it comes to losing 1 pound a week. I haven’t weighed or measured myself this month. Since I didn’t maintain any type of workout or activity schedule last month and I spent extra time in my bed (due to illness), I’m thinking measuring tape and the scale will not be my friends. I’ll measure and weigh myself the beginning of next month, promise! Running 50 miles in 30 days should reduce something, right?
Okay, if the challenge was walking 50 miles in 30 days I’d so join you! I’m slowly but surely trying to work my way up to running! 🙂 Good luck!
Thanks!! You can walk it! I’m actually walk/running the 50 miles. I wish I could run it, but I need to stay in reality. 🙂
Okay, then I’ll start keeping track and report in at the end of the month! 🙂
YAY!! Good luck!
Best of luck! You’ve got me beat, so therefore you are an inspiration! 🙂
I have found a great app which is really helping me keep track of not only what I eat (you put in the food it counts the calories for you) but also works off how many calories you burn by inputting your exercise, have only just started using it and a bad day at work saturdays and a big box of chocolates left from mothers day was not a good start but I am geared up now to make a real difference. I am actually going belly dancing tomorrow as a form of exercise.
the app is called My Fitness Pal the version I have is UK based but should imagine they have a US version http://www.myfitnesspal.com/
I’ve heard of that app. I actually recently purchased a fitbit and that has really kept me motivated. Working on a post about it. I think it works with myfitnesspal too!!
