Stitch Fix #4

December 28, 2013 by CJ

I’m almost certain I noted to skip my December fix.  Almost positive I did.  If I didn’t I’m close to being certain that I would not pick the day before Christmas to get a fix.  That being said having the mailman knock on my door on Christmas eve with a box for me was nice.  My only complaint will be that if it had come at a different time, I would have probably had a little more money to spend on myself.  Being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, daughter-in-law, leaves my wallet very tight when it comes to things for myself this time of year.  Don’t worry, I was able to squeeze out a few dollars for myself.

Love opening up that box.  I like to think of it as a Christmas present to myself every month!

Bay to Baubles Willis Floral Long Necklace -$36.00

I fell in immediate love with this necklace.  The last necklace I received in my 2nd fix has been a go to piece for me.  No question, this is a keeper.

Loveappella Claudia Banded Dolman Sleeve Top $58.00

Styling options from Stitch Fix

I like Dolman Sleeve tops, but not when it is clingy around my belly.  Since my tummy isn’t flat or smooth and currently protrudes more than I like (which is why I’m challenging myself in 2014) I try to avoid these types of tops.

Katherine Barclay -Ryder Crew Neck Hi Lo Cotton Sweater $58.00

I don’t think my picture or the card Stitch Fix provided does this sweater justice.  It’s thick and soft.  The fit wasn’t that great.  It wasn’t 100% bad either.  The hi in the front looked great.  It’s just the low in the back…not a good look when you have a behind.  Last thing I want to do is spend my day adjusting my sweater every time I stand up.

Ravel -Kathy Feather Print Shoulder Pleat Blouse $48.00

As soon as I saw this blouse was from Ravel, I was looking forward to trying it on.  An as I thought it did not disappoint.  My favorite Fix to date is the Ravel Rafaella Geo Print tie-Neck Blouse.  The Geo Print blouse is one of my favorite tops.  I love how versatile it is.  You can wear it with jeans or a cute skirt.  This blouse also looked the same way and the fit?  Perfection!!  Couldn’t be happier.

Katherine Barclay- Brannan Hooded French Terry Jacket $78.00

I actually really liked this jacket.  It’s not my usual style.  If I had the extra money I think I would have gotten this.

To be honest, if I had the extra money I would have purchased the entire fix.  It would have been a good deal, $278 (merchandise) -$20 (prepaid styling fee) -64.50 (25% discount for purchasing the entire box) = $193.50.  Granted I didn’t LOVE everything in the box, but I did like all if it just enough to push me over the edge.  Not 100% sure what I would have done with that Dolman shirt, maybe put it in my closet with a hope to drop those extra pounds.

Have you experienced Stitch Fix yet?  What are your thoughts??

I love that blouse and the Jacket, for now am sticking to just doing the make up box and cancelled the stationary one for over Christmas but am hoping to start that back up next month although really I could do with saving some extra pennies for a wardrobe revamp when I lose weight to go with the make up overhaul have been getting

I’m beginning to wish I did get the jacket. Oh well. Since I’m hoping to lose some weight this year, I plan on finding a good tailor. 🙂

I really like the feather blouse. It’s so pretty!

I got the Dolman in my January box and I feel like I’ve seen the shirts at Target for 1/2 the price. I think the most frustrating thing with Stitch Fix is no matter HOW many times I tell them I live in cold weather in the Northeast- they still keep sending me sweaters that have lace/thin chiffon backs. I will never wear those in winter or even spring- so not work friendly!

I did get the one heavier sweater, but that has been it. Have you adjusted your style profile? I just received my January fix and will post about that eventually, but I agree. Sometime I do wonder about the actual value of the items. The things I have kept, so far, seem to be worth it. I wear them often. I love the convenience and surprise of getting the box. To date, the good outweighs the bad.

I did adjust and I feel like they still sent items priced higher than I put in my style profile. I think I’m going to take February/March off and head back in April. I want to give it a good two months and see how summer goes. They’ve pulled a lot of pieces from Nordstrom for me, but I then think, “Well I can early Nordstrom rewards so why am I doing this?” I got the Sancuary rizzo pants and am debating if I’m sending those back or keeping. I keep thinking “$88? Ugh but they’re SO LONG! so hard to come by!”
