And the Training Begins
5March 23, 2013 by CJ
I did my first long run of my 2013 training session. 6.74 miles today. I’m pretty psyched. For this year I have signed up for 2- 5ks, 1-10k, 1-10 miler, and 2 half marathons.
My first long race is the Baltimore 10 miler. I ran it last year. I blogged about how tough it was. I decided I should train as if I am running a half marathon. Since I have been reading blogs by other runners, many have commented on how much they love the Galloway method of training. I took the leap and invested the time and a few dollars into learning more about the program. I’m not going to get into the ins and outs of it here (here is a link to his site if you are interested), but I did purchase his book and download the app. I’m pretty excited about this. As soon as I crossed the finish line last year of the Baltimore 10 miler, I knew I could run it better. I just needed to train smarter. I believe I am on my way. The big test will be June 15th. Let the countdown begin!

Keep us posted on the Galloway training plan. I heard Jeff speak about it this year and decided that if I ever did a full marathon, that is the plan I’d follow.
L.O.V.E. the pink shoes!
Good luck!! Excited to hear how the training plan goes for you. 🙂
Can’t wait to hear how you do! I have those EXACT shoes!!! I loved them…they didn’t love me back (but each shoe is different for each person). I now wear those shoes as just casual shoes.
Best of luck! YOU ARE A CHAMP!!!!
I am off to check that training plan out now – thanks for the heads up!
