Why Running a Race is like Giving Birth
5June 24, 2012 by CJ
Before all you givers of life jump down my throat, I have given birth…to twins…naturally…7.7 and 6.6 lbs
- Your first time around- you read all you can and try to gather as much info as possible
- A big deal is made of the first, second and maybe even the third. But any after that are barely noticed by friends and family.
- You begin wanting to make sure you are looking your best, and end not giving a damn how you look
- There are very few, if any, decent pictures of you during the big event
- People cheer you along the way. At some point you want to hurt them
- Somewhere in the middle of it, you swear you will never do it again
- Everyone has a special way to breathe during the process, but the truth is just remembering to breathe is key
- When you are done, everyone congratulates you and even you are in awe of yourself
- Sometime after the pain has subsided, cuts and bruises have healed, you begin thinking you can do it again…but better
Love, love, LOVE!!!
