This was posted awhile ago (I’m just getting around to April posts) but with completing my first 10k, I couldn’t have found a better blog to share.

Happy 1st Race Anniversary to me!

My first race was the NYRR Colon Cancer Challenge 15k in Central Park (2011) and on Sunday I ran it again.  Since this 15k (9.3 mile) race in 2011, I have run 133 miles of combined races over the past 12 months.  How?  One foot in front of the other. I wasn’t always fast, or smooth, or with a huge stride… just one foot in front of the other.

Back in 2011 it was a frigid, windy day yet the cold didn’t bother me. What I remember most were my cheeks hurting because I could not stop smiling throughout the entire course.  I was so proud of myself for discovering this…
