“We Should Ban Life Jackets…”

I try to avoid political posts, they are just not my thing. But I saw the following floating around facebook, I had to share it. When I first read it I laughed, then it made me think. My intention is not to stir up controversy, I just hope you take the time to read it and a few seconds more to think about it.
Actually I was watching a programme last night that said statistics showed when seatbelts were introduced the number of accidents went up purely becase people saw it as a miracle saviour and acted more recklessly, and that there is a suggestion airbags are having the same effect, in a similar jokey way it was suggested a 6 inch spike protruding from the steering wheel would stop more accidents than airbags as you could guarentee people would drive a lot more carefully
